"Blurred Lines"

  • The video is performance based and involves the singers dancing with girls in underwear around them. It links to the song lyrics as they are very sexual towards women, this provocative clothing encourages the theory of the male gaze, portraying women as sexual objects, and they are just there for male satisfaction.

  • The singers in the video are all men and they are wearing suits w as tidy professional men, whereas the women in the video are dancing in their underwear which portrays the idea that they're "easy" and like to impress men.

  • This video was clearly made for a male hetrosexaul audience as the original uncensored video the woman weren't wearing anything on their top half, this also links with the theory of male gaze and it suppresses women

  • The theorist 'Shuker' can apply to this as it says the representation of women in music videos is for a male audience.
